§ 16-52. Forms; records retention.

  • (a)

    Declaration forms shall be prepared by the city clerk at least 45 days before the election and shall state the candidate's full name, the office for which the candidate is running, that the candidate is a qualified city voter and a resident of the city, and a statement that if the candidate is elected he or she will serve the full term of office.

    (b)

    In addition, the city clerk shall prepare forms for nominating petitions at least 45 days before the election which will provide a blank space for the candidate's name, a statement that the persons signing the petition are qualified city voters and believe the candidate to be a qualified city voter, and spaces for the signature of ten city voters.

    (c)

    The city clerk shall keep records of all persons nominated and the date the declaration or nominating petition was filed.
