§ 2-60. Ceremonial and executive authority.

  • The executive power of the city is vested in the city manager. In the event the city manager position is vacant, the mayor, by order of the city council, may exercise the executive power of the city manager until a temporary or replacement city manager is appointed by the council. In all other instances, the mayor shall act as the ceremonial head of the city government.
