§ 34-142. Inspections.

  • (a)

    For the purpose of facilitating firefighting, building inspections shall be made by the department officers from time to time to determine the arrangement of buildings with respect to one another, to familiarize themselves with the inside of every building and its contents, to study the best methods of attacking every building in case of fire, and to note all new construction. Records shall be kept of all inspections including notes and sketches. These records shall be made a permanent part of the records of the department.

    (b)

    The chief may inspect, or cause to be inspected by members of the department, the fire hydrants, cisterns and other sources of water supply at least twice each year.
