§ 36-51. Disposable plastic shopping bags prohibited.

The provision of lightweight disposable plastic shopping bags (the white polyethylene handled style commonly used for carry-out for groceries by supermarkets) by businesses in the city for use by their customers shall be prohibited. A violation of this section subjects the violator to a civil penalty of $50.00 for each violation.
